Lisa gave me a lot of concrete things to think about instead of thinking about everything I put into my mouth. We coached through the thoughts I was having when I ate and how I felt about it. I did exercises about how I felt getting on the scale. She helped me to relax and count on myself. I actually did lose weight….15 lbs. I still would like to loose 5 more, but I do not feel any stress about it.
Before, I was so obsessed with the my actions in trying to lose weight that it had taken over my life. The biggest thing that has changed for me is learning to identify my thoughts and feelings about food, weight, and my body. I was able to stop feeling so much stress about eating out, feeding groups of people and enjoying life. I feel like I got my power back.
more. . .For the first time in several years, I’m seeing real weight loss! I had been waffling between the same 5 pounds for what felt like forever, even though I said I was “trying” to lose weight that entire time.
Most recently, I had tried several forms of nutrition therapy, but there was always something I didn’t really connect with under each plan. Lisa, however, approaches her work with a common-sense, real world perspective, and her lessons aligned with other wellness concepts I was already studying, like mindfulness and how to step out of habit loops that aren’t serving you.

After 5 months of working with Lisa on healthy eating habits, I have reached my goal weight and inches from my waist line. But it is the self-confidence and transformation in thoughts that is the true success story. While I have tried numerous diets in the past and rigorous exercise plans, I could not lose the belly weight from pregnancy.
The coaching from Lisa not only helped me reach my weight goals but has impacted my life in so many other ways. Her knowledge and expertise in healthy eating but also the psychology behind overeating helped me gain self-confidence and a positive body image. Lisa was able to help me work toward my goals by taking time to teach new skills, each week we built on the last week. It was helpful to not just try and change everything on week 1. I would get to the point every week where I wanted more. She was very supportive without making success only equal weight loss each week. That helped a lot. She was also willing to tackle real life situations and not just talk in theories – she was willing to get down to the hard situations with real take-aways! She was also so good about helping me see it wasn’t just food but how I thought about food (from the past and present).
I have noticed since beginning the program has been feeling in control, being able to listen to my body and having a plan that is do-able for the rest of my life.
And having lost close to 14 pounds!

more. . .My perspective on food is changing in a much healthier way. It is not the way to reward me, comfort me, or entertain me, food is to nourish me and my body. While special foods are often connected to events, I can plan that into my eating plan and still stay focused on my goals.
I am also okay knowing that this is a slow process. My weight isn’t falling off like in a fad diet, but I am making healthy, natural changes that are starting to show and will pay off in the long run.
