But what does that look like for you in coaching sessions?

Eat Well: This is where we talk about what you are actually eating. You’ll learn to make plans for your meals, using foods you like and want to eat, and then eat what is on your plan.  We will dive into any undesirable digestive symptoms, and figure out the what foods are causing those.  You learn the difference between power foods and pleasure foods–when and how to plan both. We talk about meal timing. I’ll review your food journals and we discuss ways you can crowd out foods you no longer want to eat.

Think Well: Traditional diets do not give you any tools for cravings (other than silly tips like chew some gum. 🙄) In this pillar, I’ll give you actionable tools to manage cravings.  I will teach you the main coaching tool I use with all my clients (also taught in these blog posts here, here and here). You’ll learn how to apply it in your life so you aren’t “on your own” after our coaching relationship ends.  You’ll do numerous exploratory worksheets–lots of journaling to get your thoughts out of your head and onto paper where you can really take a look at what’s been sitting around in the basement of your brain! We get that all cleaned out!

Live Well: There is more to life than losing weight! And there is more to losing weight than just your food.  Your sleep schedule, self care, what you do for movement, family time and your hobbies are all relevant.  You do have a hobby other than losing weight right? 😉 Making sure you are creating joy and feeding yourself with these primary foods, before feeding yourself with secondary foods (the food actually on your plate) is key to this pillar.
